Bulldogs forstærker angrebet til den kommende sæson med den rutinerede Shawn O’Donnell fra Canada. Nytilkomne O’Donnell skifter til Odense Bulldogs fra tyske Ravensburg Towerstars, men har erfaring fra både AHL og ECHL, hvor han også tidligere har stiftet bekendtskab med Marc Lefebvre’s kommando i Cincinnati Cyclones.
“I’m very excited to be here in Odense and be a part of this team. I used to play for Marc back in North America, so I have some history with him, and I am looking forward to work with him again. It’s great to see such a young team playing the way they were towards the end of last season. Ending the season like that, I believe that this is a great project with a lot of talent and I’m expecting us to develop in a positive direction trying to become one of the top teams again. Being one of the older and more experienced guys in the squad I’ll try to lead and help out the young guys as players but also as people.” Fortæller O’Donnell om den nye tilværelse hos Odense Bulldogs.
Om O’Donnell’s tilgang udtaler cheftræner Marc Lefebvre:
“Shawn is an experienced physical and offensive two-way forward. He brings a lot of key attributes to our lineup in which we were looking to improve on from last season. He gives us options on the forward lines as he can play both center and wing. His professionalism off the ice will also be beneficial and invaluable to our young Danish players. Shawn’s overall skill-setup will be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs this season”
Ny angriber i truppen er ligeledes Christian Juhl Thunbo, som skifter fra Herlev Eagles.
”Christian har været i kikkerten de seneste sæsoner og nu var timingen korrekt og derfor er vi glade for at kunne tilknytte Christian til truppen for den kommende sæson. Christian skal ind og suge til sig af erfaring og kæmpe om spilletid med de øvrige unge i truppen.” Udtaler sportschef Henrik Benjaminsen
Cheftræner Marc Lefebvre ser også frem til at arbejde med den talentfulde angriber:
“Christian is a young and hardworking skilled Danish forward that will bring depth to our forward lineup this season. He has some good experience from his time in Herlev Eagles and his speed will fit in well with the Bulldogs. I look forward to helping Christian develop to become a more complete player."
O’Donnell og Thunbo har begge underskrevet en 1-årig kontrakt med Odense Bulldogs.
